asparagus

From: Dagele Brothers Farm Hub (Local Farm in Florida, NY)

Asparagus is a favorite here at Field Goods. You can roast them, put them in soups, or just chop them raw for salads. Asparagus is low in saturated fat, calories, cholesterol, and sodium, and is a very good source of dietary fiber and protein. It has a high, diverse, and well-balanced vitamin and mineral content.

rainbow swiss chard

From: Flaim Farm (Family Farm in Vineland, NJ)

Pronounced (shard) This green leafy vegetable is related to the beet family, unlike beets you can not eat the roots. The flavor is compared to spinach and can be used just like spinach. When cooked it brings out the sweet flavor similar to beets.

golden delicious

From: Migliorelli Farm (Family Farm in Tivoli, NY)

Golden Delicious apples are pale green to golden yellow in color and speckled with small lenticels (spots). They are small to medium in size, and tend to be conical or oblong in shape. Golden Delicious apples are firm, crisp, and white-fleshed. These apples have a balanced sweet-tart aromatic flavor, which has been described as honeyed. The flavor varies depending on where these apples are grown; in a cool climate, the amount of acid increases, actually creating a sweeter flavor.

butterhead lettuce

From: SAF Farm (Local Farm in Albany, NY)

Butterhead lettuces have soft, buttery-textured leaves that form very loose "heads". They boast a mild, sweet and succulent flavor.
