orange carrots

From: Dagele Brothers Farm Hub (Local Farm in Florida, NY)

Carrots have an earthy flavor with sweet notes of celery. The outer skin is a bright orange and when peeled away reveals an orange flesh that is snappy and crisp.  Though carrots are most often found trimmed of their thin, dill-like foliage, their greens are equally edible, with herbaceous carrot and parsley undertones. The darkest and greenest tops indicate the largest carrots.

scallions

From: Dagele Brothers Farm Hub (Local Farm in Florida, NY)

Scallions are long, with a white stem end that does not bulge out. They have an onion-y but mild bite that is not as intense as regular onions (the white parts contain the most intense flavor). They can be used raw or cooked, and while some cooks discard the darker green tops, the whole thing can be eaten, and is often used in Asian cooking.

broccoli crowns

From: Dagele Brothers Farm Hub (Local Farm in Florida, NY)

Broccoli is high in many nutrients, including fiber, vitamin C, vitamin K, iron, and potassium. It also boasts more protein than most other vegetables. This green veggie can be enjoyed both raw and cooked, but recent research shows that gentle steaming provides the most health benefits.

organic pea shoots

From: Letterbox Farm (Organic Farm in Hudson, NY)

All parts of the pea plant are edible. As the pea leaves and stems mature, they tend to get tough and stringy, but when they are young, the pea shoots are not just tender, they are also crisp and tasty. They have a pea-like flavor, but even fresher.

fuji apples

From: Migliorelli Farm (Family Farm in Tivoli, NY)

Firm, crisp, and juicy, Fuji apples are among the most popular apples for eating fresh, but they're also great for baking, as they hold their shape when they cook.

brown asian pears

From: (Product Location Varies)

The brown varieties of Asian pears arrive when the season is in full swing - by late September into mid October. They range from sweet to very sweet with a mild, clear flavor and exceedingly crisp, juicy texture. They are the classic autumnal Asian pears with a russetted skin and round shape. Each pear is hand-picked, hand-sorted and individually packed in protective "socks" to ensure the delicate fruits arrive in peak conditon.

kiwi

From: (Product Location Varies)

Kiwis are high in Vitamin C and dietary fiber and provide a variety of health benefits. This tart fruit can support heart health, digestive health, and immunity. The kiwi is a healthy choice of fruit and is rich with vitamins and antioxidants.

fuji apples

From: Migliorelli Farm (Family Farm in Tivoli, NY)

Firm, crisp, and juicy, Fuji apples are among the most popular apples for eating fresh, but they're also great for baking, as they hold their shape when they cook.

petite bananas

From: (Product of Ecuador)

Baby bananas or petite bananas wear a thin, bright yellow signature peel. As their name suggests, they are petite in size, averaging only three to four inches in length. Baby bananas have a very dense creamy texture and once ripe their flavor is rich and sweet with vanilla and caramel undertones.
