fresh fig and avocado grilled cheese

This is one fancy grilled cheese! Savory, sweet, and purely delicious. If you want a healthy filled sandwich then this is it. 


2 slices sourdough bread
1-2 fresh figs, sliced
1/2 large avocado
1/4 cup fresh salad mix or spinach leaves
favorite cheese (white cheddar works well!)
1 tablespoon butter

Recipe Instructions

Step 1: Assemble the sandwich with avocado slices, figs, and spinach on the bottom piece of bread. Cover with cheese and then the top piece of bread.
Step 2: Meanwhile, melt the butter over medium heat in a skillet. Place the sandwich into the butter and cover the pan. Cook until the bottom piece of bread is toasted and then flip. Cook until cheese has melted and another piece of bread is toasty. Cut in half and enjoy!
